For asymptomatic patients we investigate and address risk factors for stroke like high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and heart conditions related to a higher risk of stroke.
For stroke survivors we provide a comprehensive range of investigations into aetiology. We provide inhouse neuroimaging of brain and blood vessels (MRI and MRA), Blood tests to check for cholesterol, diabetes and various other risk factors and screen for heart conditions like Atrial Fibrillation. We have access to advanced cardiac investigations like Echocardiogram, Ambulatory prolonged cardiac monitoring and Cardiac MRI.
We investigate rarer causes of stroke typically called “cryptogenic strokes” with blood vessel imaging, advanced heart investigations and advanced haematological tests. We can arrange onward referral for any rare genetic tests if needed as part of this service.
For stroke survivors after completion of thorough and comprehensive investigations and identification of risk factors we provide evidence based management for these conditions and advise on modification of lifestyle factors. We aim to reduce your risk of further strokes with a comprehensive strategy of thorough investigations providing accurate diagnostics and evidence based medical management.
We provide services for incidental findings of small vessel disease in brain imaging with thorough diagnostic tests, evaluation of symptoms and evidence based treatment. We are able to offer onward referrals for any genetic tests if needed.
